Catit’s Mini Flower Fountain holds 1.5 L; PETKIT’s EverSweet Ultra has a 5 L drinking-water reservoir and a separate 1.8 L waste tank. Compare drinking-water capacity with drinking-water capacity. The extra waste tank is not part of the water available to your pet.
The 18 fountains with liter-based capacities span 1.5 to 5 L; Pioneer Pet’s entries use ounces. We compared container volumes without measuring pets’ drinking habits, so the figures do not give you a safe interval between refills or cleaning.
A metal drinking surface does not mean a metal reservoir
Catit’s PIXI stainless-surface version describes a stainless steel upper surface; its white version describes a plastic cover. Petlibro’s Stainless Steel Fountain distinguishes a stainless steel water tank from a polypropylene water outlet. Read which component the material actually describes.
Material descriptions cover 17 fountains. PETKIT’s entries include mixtures of materials, so a steel component should not be read as an all-steel bowl, reservoir and housing.
Dishwasher care is a model-specific decision
Dishwasher information exists for 3 fountains. Pioneer Pet’s Swan is marked suitable, while PETKIT’s EverSweet Solo SE and Petlibro’s battery-operated Dockstream are marked unsuitable. Those entries should not be generalized to neighboring models.
Missing care information is not approval to machine-wash the fountain. Read the maker’s directions for each removable part and clean the pump as instructed; a reservoir-material label does not supply pump-care instructions.

Does stainless steel mean the whole fountain is steel?

The material menu keeps each wording separate, so leave it open to compare them all.
Are the liter figures measured the same way?
There's no shared method. PETKIT gives the EverSweet 3 Pro as 1.6 L usable and 1.8 L maximum, while the other makers don't say which they mean, so you can compare liters only roughly across brands.
Which fountains can go in the dishwasher?
Pioneer Pet says its Swan is dishwasher safe. PETKIT's EverSweet Solo SE page says 'All parts of the water fountain are not dishwasher safe', Petlibro's battery-operated Dockstream page says the same of its parts, and the other 17 pages don't say either way.
Why do the Pioneer Pet fountains vanish when I set a liter minimum?
Pioneer Pet rates the Raindrop at 60 oz and the Swan at 80 oz, and those aren't converted to liters here, so a liter filter can't include them. Clear the capacity setting to bring them back. Among those rated in liters, Catit's Mini Flower holds the least and PETKIT's EverSweet Ultra with Camera the most.
Does any fountain have a separate waste-water tank?
