How the comparison works
Your choices are compared with each model’s product details. A missing or conflicting value stays unknown and cannot satisfy a choice you select. The starting order helps you browse; it does not rate real-world performance.
Source dates appear with each link below. A source date does not confirm today's price or stock.

Decide what part of the home you can alter
PetSafe Freedom Patio Panel is a patio-panel model; Hale Pet Door for Walls is a wall model; Anlin In-Glass Pet Door uses glass installation. These are different installation routes, not interchangeable frames. Resolve the opening material and installation method before choosing a flap.
Door thickness information is available for 8 products and wall thickness information for 4. Read the measurement relevant to your installation, then identify which tunnel or extension comes with the package. A suitable opening for the dog does not mean a suitable opening in the building.
Flap width and height must belong to the same door
Flap widths run from 7 to 16 in and heights from 11.25 to 23.75 in among the 16 products with numerical flap measurements. Security Boss SB Standard Patio Insert uses a 7 in by 11.25 in flap; PlexiDor Performance wall model uses 16 in by 23.75 in. Compare both dimensions on the chosen variant with the maker’s pet-sizing instructions.
Dogs passing through these openings were not observed; supplied door measurements are the basis for the flap-size comparison. It cannot show comfortable passage, threshold suitability or the frame’s cutout size; those details need the exact installation drawing.
Read closure details separately from insulation claims
Hale’s door model describes double flaps and a locking cover with a steel pin lock. PetSafe Freedom Aluminum describes a single flap and a slide-in closing panel. Compare the closure you will use when the door is shut as well as the flap arrangement during passage.
Insulation labels and weatherproofing descriptions are not a common thermal rating. Review seals, replacement flaps and installation guidance for your location instead of treating a material name or a descriptive insulation label as a measured energy saving.
Before you buy
Is the flap opening the same as the hole I cut?
They’re different numbers. The flap figure is the passage your dog uses; the cutout, the frame size and the wall or door thickness a kit supports are in each maker’s installation guide.
Can a door model go in a wall?
Only if the maker sells it that way. Hale and Security Boss both offer wall versions here (Hale’s Wall Model and the MaxSeal PRO for walls), each with the same 11 x 16 in flap as Hale’s door model. Ten of these 20 fit a door, five a wall, four a slider and one glass.
Do more flaps keep more heat in?
They might, but nothing here measures it. Seven doors use a double flap and PetSafe’s Extreme Weather pair use three; the seal and insulation claims are the makers’, with no heat-loss figures to compare.
