Choose the scratching position before comparing post heights

Tuft & Paw’s Tab Scratching Board can sit flat, at an angle or on a wall; its Zip Scratching Post is vertical and 36 in tall. Purrfect Post’s Mondo Deluxe is a 39 in vertical sisal post. Choose the position your placement can accommodate before using height to compare the upright designs.

Known overall heights span 20 to 39 in, but boards with unresolved height values cannot be placed at either end of that range. This guide compares scratching structures without observing cats choose or use them.

Material and overall height do not describe the whole usable surface

Tuft & Paw’s Tab uses carpet, its Zip uses sisal, and PetPals’ Urbane Multi-Activity combines sisal and carpet. Purrfect Post’s Purrfect Angle offers cardboard or sisal. The material attached to the selected option matters as much as the product-family name.

Overall height does not measure the scratching area. Resolve missing height or material details, and check usable surface dimensions plus any mounts or replacement inserts before ordering. A wall-mounted option needs its own mounting instructions and included-parts check.

Before you buy

Are these all upright posts?

Seven are vertical posts. PetPals' Poly is an angled board, the Purrfect Angle lies flat or angled, and Tuft & Paw's Tab can lie flat, sit angled or hang on a wall, with the wall mount optional.

Is the height the part my cat can scratch?

No. It's the overall height, base and top included, so the part your cat can scratch is probably shorter. If your cat stretches full length to scratch, compare the post itself on the maker's page. PetPals' two stand 20 and 24.2 in; the Purrfect Angle takes cardboard or sisal inserts but gives no height, like the Tab, so a height minimum hides both.

Why is one material blank?

PetPals' Double Bloom Sunflower page says jute in one place and sisal in another, so it's left blank rather than guessed. Tuft & Paw's Zip page mixes rope and carpet terms and is shown as sisal.

Does the sisal choice show every sisal scratcher?

Only those described as plain sisal. The Urbane Multi-Activity (sisal and carpet) and Purrfect Angle (cardboard or sisal inserts) sit under their own choices, so leave material open to see them.
