Kit systems differ. Flow Hive 2 Plus includes a tap with 6 or 7 Flow frames; MayBee cedar Langstroths have 8-frame boxes with frames and foundation.
MayBee 8F-4L includes four boxes. Twelve kits leave details unknown.

Pick compatible hive components before choosing the material
Galena Farms Superior Insulated uses a Langstroth style and polystyrene material; The Warre Store Cedar Warre uses a Warre style and cedar. System and package descriptions identify the hives, without body assembly, colony keeping or harvesting-equipment evaluations. Flow Hive’s ThermoGrade package has a Flow-Hive style and a Flow tap harvesting description. Choose the system you intend to maintain, then check bodies, frames and other components for compatibility rather than mixing them by appearance.
Read what the body count includes
Body counts span 2 to 4 across the 7 packages with body counts. The Warre Store Cedar Warre has 2 bodies with frames included and foundation excluded. MayBee’s cedar package with 4 bodies includes both frames and foundation. Equal body counts do not mean equal contents.
Read the full package description, including the size and type of frames you will need.
Find out which hive parts arrive ready to assemble
Assembly status is missing for 19 products. The Warre Store Cedar Warre has an assembled value, but that cannot supply assembly information for another maker’s package. Determine which bodies and frames need work or finishing and which parts you must supply before expecting a ready-to-use hive.
Before you buy
Does the frame count mean frames in the whole kit?
Not always. Flow’s count covers only the Flow frames in the honey super, with brood frames separate, and MayBee’s figure is the box size in frames. The parts list usually shows what you actually get. Flow suits tapping honey without lifting frames.
Are foundation sheets included?
In MayBee’s three kits, yes. The Warre Store’s hive arrives assembled with frames but no foundation, and the Flow kits don’t say, so plan to buy it separately if your frames need it.
Why do most kits show no details?
Their spec values failed a recheck, so you see blanks instead. Nine kits had carried one identical block of 10-frame details, including three sold as 8-frame kits, so those figures were pulled rather than shown wrong. Galena’s Poly 2D1M, a polystyrene hive with three bodies, is one of the eight that kept theirs.
