Clay or wheat cat litter, and how deep a fill?

Material sets maker and fill depth here. Six Dr. Elsey's clays call for 3-4 in; four sWheat Scoop wheats call for 4 in.

Seven skip added scent; Fresh Linen alone adds fragrance among eight with scent labels.

How the comparison works

Your choices are compared with each model’s product details. A missing or conflicting value stays unknown and cannot satisfy a choice you select. The starting order helps you browse; it does not rate real-world performance.

Source dates appear with each link below. A source date does not confirm today's price or stock.

Material, scent wording and fill depth answer different questions

Dr. Elsey’s Classic uses clay with an unscented label; sWheat Scoop Original uses wheat with a no-added-perfume label. sWheat Scoop Fresh Linen carries an added-natural-fragrance label. Keep those maker phrases separate instead of treating every fragrance description as equivalent.

Dr. Elsey’s starting fill instructions span 3 to 4 in for these litters; sWheat Scoop’s start at 4 in. The minimum starting depths therefore range from 3 to 4 in. Follow the complete directions for the litter you choose rather than applying a depth rule from another material.

All 10 products have a material description and a clumping designation, but those fields do not measure odor control, dust or tracking.

Before you buy

Does no added perfume mean no smell?

Not quite. It means nothing scented was added, and wheat or clay might still carry a natural smell, which is why unscented and no added perfume stay separate labels here.

Why do two Dr. Elsey’s litters show no fragrance?

The Cat Attract and Paw Sensitive pages don’t give a fragrance line, so those two are blank and drop out if you pick a fragrance label.

Can I compare cost per pound?

Not here. None of these ten pages states a bag weight, so there’s nothing to divide a price by.

Is this every kind of litter?

Only clay and wheat clumping litters from two makers. Pine, corn, walnut, paper and silica litters aren’t covered, and neither are other brands, so follow the full directions on whichever bag you buy.
